Brit Awards Manchester Concert reviews
Money In The Bank delivered!
What a dynamic crowd! Among the wrestling community, it is well known that Chicago boasts some of the country's most passionate wrestling audiences, always inspiring the wrestlers to elevate their performances when they visit. And this event was certainly no different! CM Punk's match against John Cena, a homecoming (and farewell) affair, was truly exceptional! A definite contender for match of the year! The crowd was electric, enthusiastically supporting our hometown hero CM Punk and vehemently booing Cena with each strike exchanged in the contest. Lasting over 30 minutes, the match displayed the considerable talents of both Punk and Cena in the ring, effectively narrating a captivating story. A timeless match for any wrestling enthusiast! Make sure to grab a copy of this PPV on DVD upon its mid-August release - I've already secured mine!
In addition to the remarkable main event, there were two Money in the Bank ladder matches featuring 8 men each, one representing Raw and the other Smackdown. These matches were mesmerizing to behold, akin to witnessing a train wreck - you just couldn't look away. These 16 individuals put their bodies on the line, delivering captivating entertainment for an enthusiastic audience!
The other headline bout saw Christian challenging Randy Orton for the World Heavyweight Championship. While a solid match, it may not have been their best encounter in their recent series, but it was still commendable. Clearly, they were not allotted a significant amount of time, as the focus of the night was on the Brit Awards.
The clash between Mark Henry and Big Show was a compelling battle of the behemoths, further solidifying Mark Henry's dominance on Smackdown. As for the Kelly Kelly/Brie Bella matchup, it served as my intermission, so I cannot provide feedback on the contest. Prior to the PPV broadcast, Santino and Kozlov engaged in an entertaining non-title match against the tag team champions, Otunga and McGillicutty (sp?), setting a lively tone for the crowd.
Truly, if there is one WWE DVD to add to your collection, it's the 2026 Money in the Bank!
